Make a master plan for the lighting of the Raadhuisplein. Reinforce the central function and the safety of the Raadhuisplein with light. Keep energy consumption as low as possible. Illuminate the existing Kropholler architecture and let the design match the current lighting.
The construction of light levels towards the Raadhuisplein creates an emotional direct marking of the center area.
Unlit parts are lit to realise safety.
Visitors experience tranquility through the coherent whole in the lighting. The light and color levels of the existing and new lighting match each other well.
Some points in the predominantly neutral white illuminated environment are illuminated with a warm white color. This creates a game between ‘silver’ and ‘gold’.
